Module 1, Task A: Telnet
I had never heard of Telnet before, I am running XP SP3, so it was already installed on my computer, and when I first opened it I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was doing, it took me over an hour to figure out how to connect, I actually felt really silly, then I realised I was already connected I just need a “O” command to connect to the address that was defined in our task, which waslibrary.deakin.edu.au.
After I finally worked out how to connect, I was quite shocked that telnet was able to perform such useful, basic skills, like emailing the results of my search, directly to my curtin email address! Although the email was very very basic, and I would probably forget in a few weeks what it was about because the information was very limited, it was good to step outside the box of Firefox for a few moments and experience how accessing the internet used to be.
